Stellenbosch: Stellenbosch producer, Delheim Wines, will be closing for two weeks after confirmed exposure to Dutch tourists who reportedly tested positive for the Coronavirus.
On Saturday, 7 March 2020 Delheim hosted a Dutch Tour Group (The Dutch Wijnacademie) and during this visit, five of staff members were however in contact with the group.
“Unfortunately on Sunday, 15 March, we were informed that some of the members of the Dutch group have now been tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. We immediately informed and briefed all staff, whilst implementing a two-week self-isolation period for the staff members who came in contact with these foreigners,” Delheim confirmed in a statement.
The leading tourist destination has since taken necessary precautions by halting large group bookings.
“To take further precautions and to limit any potential exposure to infection – for both guests and staff – we can confirm that our hospitality sector of the business will be closing for 2 weeks whereafter we will reassess the situation,” Delheim clarified.
None of staff members have tested positive for the Coronavirus COVID-19 at this stage.
