Cape Town: Protesters Swarm World Economic Forum on Africa Venue

A huge crowd of anti-gender violence Protesters wielding banners attempted to break into the Cape Town International Conference Centre where top delegates and heads of States are attending the World Economic Forum on Africa.

The demonstrators with banners written ”stop raping our kids” and ”Stop killing our girls” used the platform to express their concerns to President Cyril Ramaphosa following deadly attacks on children and a woman who went missing in Table Mountain only to be found days later , raped and killed.

”Shut down the country!” one of the banners read.

The police manning the CTICC had to run to close up the entrance to the venue where the World Economic Forum is underway, to stop the charging protesters from getting access into conference centre.

A woman came running, leading a swarm of angry demonstrators but the security at the entrance barred her and managed to keep the marchers at bay .

Escalating cases of violence against mostly women and children has prompted South Africans to demand action from the government, which they accuse of overlooking the issue.
